Resource Spotlight: September – YouTube Audio Library

This month is a two for one deal! A free resource for royalty free music and sound effects is the YouTube Audio Library. Simply go to YouTube and create an account. If you have a Google account, you may already have a YouTube account.

Click on your profile picture in the top right and click on “Creator Studio”. On the left side menu navigate to “Create”. Click on it and the Audio Library will load. There are two sections. One labeled “Free music” and the other labeled “Sound effects”

You can play each of the audio tracks by clicking the play button. You can define your search by selecting specific features at the top of the menu. You can choose a certain genre, mood, instrument, duration, and attribution. You can also see the popularity of an audio track from the bar on the far right. (how many times it was downloaded)

To download a song click the download button on the far right side. Some audio tracks require you to give credit when you use it. Simply add the attribution link to the description of the video when you post it. That’s it for this month’s resource spotlight!
